Title: Broadway At Music Circus Junior Company Counselor

Term of Employment: Hourly. The counselor position includes day and evening hours as well as weekends, depending on the performance schedule of the child actors. You will be assigned to assist with specific production(s) based on schedule needs and your availability.

Reports to: Director of Education and Community Engagement

Wage: $15.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teaching artist in providing a safe, educational, professional and enjoyable environment for Music Circus Junior Company
Supervise Music Circus Junior Company during Broadway At Music Circus rehearsals and performances, including assisting with costume changes and escorting Junior Company members throughout the backstage and theatre areas, and other duties as assigned
Ensure Music Circus Junior Company members are behaving in a safe and professional manner at all times
Keep Music Circus Junior Company members engaged throughout the entire rehearsal process, including during breaks
Facilitate theatre games and group activities

Qualifications:

Experience and enjoyment working with children ages 8-16
A knowledge of theatre games and performance techniques
Training/experience in acting, voice, and/or dance
Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Ability to both take and give direction
CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required
Must be 18+ to apply
