Position Summary

The Social Media Specialist creates and deploys innovative and impactful social media campaigns and promotional partnerships to help drive ticket sales and increase awareness for Broadway Sacramento’s Broadway At Music Circus and Broadway On Tour theatrical productions. The Social Media Specialist also creates content to support arts education programs, augment fundraising efforts and enhance Broadway Sacramento’s overall brand.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Broadway Sacramento’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and TikTok.
  • Create engaging, relevant content for posts, including high quality video and graphics as well as concise and entertaining copy.
  • Schedule posts with an appropriate frequency to engage followers and drive ticket sales.
  • Collaborate with applicable social media influencers to broaden the reach of Broadway Sacramento’s messaging.
  • Evaluate viability of new or underutilized platforms and tools (including blogs, podcasts, digital newsletters, direct dialog channels) and implement additional platforms as applicable.
  • Facilitate online conversations with patrons, actively engaging followers in real-time dialog when necessary.
  • Engage with social media platforms of Broadway Sacramento partners and key demographic groups.
  • Track and report engagement metrics.
  • Manage ad budget allocated to boosting social posts.
  • Staff social media photo opportunity display at each show’s opening night; schedule volunteers to staff additional nights as necessary.
  • Coordinate promotions with restaurants, media and other Broadway Sacramento partners, including distribution of promotional materials and on-site supervision of promotional events as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience creating social media content.
  • Creative mindset, with a solid understanding of the nuances of popular social media platforms, including the ability to identify trends for content. 
  • Solid writing, proofreading and communication skills.
  • Strong photography and videography skills, including editing content.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools, Google analytics and SEO for social media to optimize reach utilizing hashtags and keywords.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite or other graphic design and video editing software. 

Preferred

  • Experience/interest in musical theatre or other live entertainment field.
  • Experience with project management software.
