Job Title: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Reports to: PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

About Broadway Sacramento: 

Broadway Sacramento has been a cultural and artistic institution serving Northern California audiences for nearly 75 years. In that time, it has expanded through innovative self-produced performances in its 2,200 seat venue “in the round” (Broadway At Music Circus) and by hosting touring productions of Broadway’s most popular shows in its similarly large proscenium venue (Broadway On Tour). In addition to a wide variety of education and community engagement programs, this year has seen further expansion into year-round programming at the UC Davis Health Pavilion. Over the years, Broadway Sacramento has been home to film, television and musical theatre personalities, while fostering the next generations of Broadway talent. With a year-round staff of 45 full-time members and 12 part-time members, Broadway Sacramento seeks a Human Resources leader to both better serve its existing team and assist with its continued expansion. 

Chief Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement values-driven policies and practices
  • Lead employee onboarding and development procedures, including annual reviews, coaching, and documentation 
  • Collaborate with department managers to effectively and efficiently recruit Broadway Sacramento’s growing team 
  • Advise leadership on strategies to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture 
  • Serve as employee benefits administrator, including open enrollment, workers compensation, and 401(k) plans 
  • Facilitate compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including OSHA and ACA 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of five years of experience in human resources 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive working style 
  • Proficiency with accounting systems, office computer equipment and software 
  • Local residency in the Sacramento area 

Compensation & Employee Benefits: 

  • Annual salary of $95,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience
