Gain practical backstage experience in a variety of production areas in a professional theatrical setting.  Six units of college credit are available through American River College.  To be eligible for the internship students must be at least entering senior year in high school or in college with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.  Previous theatre experience is preferred but not required.

The program is highly recommended for graduating high school seniors and for those who are in their first two years of college.  Interns will work in various assigned production areas and participate in weekly discussions with Music Circus staff and guest artists.

The internship position requires a full-time commitment.  Interns will be required to work an average of 40 hours a week. Schedule and assignments are subject to change depending on the needs of the theatre.  Due to variable hours of the program, it would be very difficult to work another job while doing the internship at Music Circus.

California Musical Theatre often offers paying internships to past interns who have proven themselves in non-paid positions.  We are looking for students who are serious about gaining experience and training in technical theatre.  The skills learned and experience gained is invaluable and gives students a chance to get their foot in the door and begin a career in the theatre industry.  The internship requires a commitment to a high standard of excellence, along with plenty of energy and enthusiasm for working in theatre.
